Do You Need to Take Class to be a Voiceover Artist?

Welcome to Voiceover Camp, our latest #AskAnExpert series!

Voiceover Camp is designed for those of you who are brand new to or curious about VO, transitioning to VO from another form of acting or voice career, or are still working on gaining your footing in the space. VO expert Elise Arsenault breaks down what the voiceover world is like, what to expect as you get started, the different niches within it, the equipment you need, and all the nitty gritty you may not think to ask about but absolutely need to know.

Spoiler alert: you do need to take classes. But I want you to understand why it's important to acquire certain skills before your first voiceover audition. Upfront training as well as other investments, like equipment, will help you enter the VO world with confidence and professionalism. And you'll have the benefit of familiarity with the areas in which voiceover differs from other acting specialties! Check out this week's video to learn what classes you need to take depending on your background and other tools to help you get there.
